[4] We Know Disability Issues, BUT ...
... but You Know Your Own Special Needs! Each member of our staff is well-versed in disability issues on a personal or professional level. All of our upper management people and many of our staff members are disabled themselves. Others have been involved in the lives of friends and family members with disabilities, or have worked closely with disabled people in various medical, health care, or educational fields. We each take great care to ensure that the information we gather from each barrier-free facility is accurate and complete, both with regard to their accessibility and their positive attitude toward their disabled customers, because we fully understand the importance of the service we provide to America's disabled population. However, despite our expertise and our best efforts, we don't know the "disability quotient" of each user of our Information Service (i.e., the nature and extent of your particular disability and how it might affect your activities). Consequently, if you are unsure whether a particular resource listed with our Service will be fully suitable for your particular needs, we recommend that you phone ahead to discuss your special needs with the staff of the place you're planning to visit before you go. And if you're planning to go out to dinner, it might be a good idea to phone ahead anyway, and check out their Daily Specials! |
